The uniqueness and benefits of thermoplastic composite pipe (TCP) makes on oil gas operation and subsea infrastructure, It also benefit water transportation field to replace steel reinforced, and other related reinforced composite pipe for more economic and environmental purpose.
However, since fiberglass TCP pipe is different from steel reinforced composite pipe and flexible composite pipe, In previous article, we have distinguished the different between thermoplastic composite pipe (TCP) and reinforced thermoplastic composite pipe (RTP). In this series article, we highlight and give brief experience sharing about raw material savings between TCP pipe and other type of RTP or PE pipes.
High pressure resistance: The maximum pressure resistance of the TCP system is up to 60 MPa, more than 40 times of plastic pipes.
High-temperature resistance: The maximum TCP pipe operating temperature of the system is 130℃, by using PERT-1 or PERT-2 for inner layer, which is more than 60℃ higher than general plastic pipes.
Long lifetime: 6 times of metal pipes, 2 times of plastic pipes.
Thermoplastic composite pipe corrosion resistance: Non-corrosive and environmental.
Wall thickness: The wall thickness is 1/4 of plastic pipes, improving 30% flow rate.
Fiberglass TCP Lightweight: 40% lighter than plastic pipes, 30% lighter than steel wire reinforced composite pipe.
Strong joints: Double-layer glass fiber superposition in joints, hot-melt socket, never leak.
Low cost: 40% lower than plastic pipes.
